Alternative Pride Vancouver 2019 is a grass-roots non-corporate music and art festival celebrating LGBTQ+ artists. Now in it's 4th year, it takes place over 5 days, and presents 18 unique and diverse events including warehouse take-overs, unforgettable garden performances, breath-taking city vistas, chic gallery exhibitions, a night of musical theatre, drag brunches in specially curated restaurants, decadent boat cruises, and wild, kinky after-hours, with out-of-this world main-events - all while raising money for some important Vancouver queer causes.

WEDNESDAY JULY 31
🍬 Blackout: A Britney Spears Drag Musical - SOLD OUT 🍬
9 of Vancouver's top drag artists will all portray the incomparable Britney Spears in this drag musical written and narrated by Continental Breakfast. The story will 'loosely' chronicle the trials and tribulations Britney went through during the year 2007, entirely set to the music from her highly acclaimed album, Blackout. Presented at the incredible Rickshaw Theatre.
THURSDAY AUGUST 1
🍄 Plantasia 🍄
A brand new cabaret featuring drag, burlesque, song, dance, circus arts, and spoken word, their group of trans and GNC artists will create an ethereal night full of botanic beauty. Presented by the Ghost Light Vaudeville Society at the iconic Fox Cabaret.
🍰 Pride in Chinatown 2019 🍰
A loud and proud celebration of the beautiful queer asian art that Vancouver is lucky enough to house. Join us to witness the 4 hour spectacle curated by Paul Wong, who is known for creating immersive and unforgettable displays of art.
🍭 Idris Hudson: The Symbol of Unconditional Love 🍭
The debut solo collection of commercial & fine art presented in an alternative-hours gallery setting. As part of a beautifully cultural Pride Thursday, this chic exhibition will celebrate love and life through art.

You want some drag, food, and drinks?
Well honey, you are going to EAT US UP! Food specials, drink specials, and some truly mouth watering performances. Come hungry, leave entertained! We are your Late Night Snack!
🍫 Vancouver Make Out Party - Alternative Pride 2019 🍫
Seattle's famous party by Nark Magazine has been travelling to cities like Chicago, San Francisco, Portland, and for the second time, VANCOUVER. Last Pride this night was a hot makeout fest that left us drooling all weekend.
🎂 Trade: Qu333r Afterhours 🎂 is an elusive afterhours for the clandestine miscreants of the night. This is a private queer space that starts at midnight and goes until sunrise. High quality sound and techno merges with custom staging and high powered visual machines in full effect.

🍬 Bears in Space Pride Street Party 2019 🍬
LA’s babes of “Bears in Space” are set to land in Vancouver for their triumphant return after leaving us all wigless last Alternative Pride! Blow up castles! Water Features! With two massive curated shaded and non-shaded areas to make you rawr! Plus! A massive craft beer selection! Lets just say, we've taken all of your feedback, and plan to deliver a truly epic event like none other!
🍰 Spank! Pride Edition 🍰
Spank! is a notorious pan-sexual multi-area fetish party where anything goes and all are welcome! Specially-curated fetish only zones! Wild and intimate spaces for everyone in a chic new venue to be your new form of heaven.
🍭 Por Detroit Vancouver 🍭 is good music, community love and sex positivity. All stripes of the LGBT+ community and allies come together to share good vibes and liberate ourself on the dance-floor.

🍡 Late Night Snack Brunch 🍡
For the first time ever, the gender bending clowns behind Late Night Snack are presenting a Brunch Show! With a cast full of their closest draggies, expect an afternoon of wild performances, and looks like you've never seen henny. Come for the diner, stay for the show.
🎂 Sunset Cruise Alternative Pride Closing Event 2019 🎂
Join us on an epic 450 person charter cruise ship, for an incredible evening celebrating the last light of Pride week, and welcoming the carnal pleasure of the night to come. Docking right next to our biggest party ever. Info below ;)

You heard it here first folks, our biggest. Backdoor. Ever. A 2000 person mega party will takeover the famous (REDACTED) for one night only in a night like you've never seen. Our most outrageous art installations and performances to date. The hottest DJ's, the hottest bodies, all welcome for the biggest party to ever hit Vancouver.
🍬 Qu333r Afterhours: NoFOMO Take Over Official Backdoor Afterparty 🍬
Join us in a special after-hours location turned out of this world smooch pad, rave cave, drag dungeon, party palace for go you late night queers. Didn't get enough at Backdoor? Keep it going at 333 until the sun is up.
🍭 Pride on Wheels 🍭 Friday-Sunday
A special bus to take you from spot-to-spot-to-spot. Don't worry about taxis, because we will get you there safely! No apps needed!

Every year our volunteers are crucial to making this festival as sweet as we need it to be. If you want to help out, learn the ins and outs of a major queer production, and meet some of the artist and producers involved, fill out the form below! All volunteers will receive a festival pass in exchange for their help.

Alternative Pride Vancouver 2019 will be filled to the brim with treats and sweets, for all you sugar loving freaks. Whether you’re a Ring Pop or a Blow Pop, expect to be adorned in sugary snacks the whole festival because we are celebrating from Wednesday to Sundae. Come dressed looking your sweetest, because what’s more colourful than candy?

We believe that by supporting the development of students who possess drive, vision, compassion and knowledge, we can improve society and increase awareness of our diverse community.
